MATERUNI WATERFALL & COFFEE TOUR

The tour of the waterfalls and the visit of the village of Materuni are an excellent opportunity to admire the rich and unspoiled nature of Tanzania and to learn about the history, culture and traditions of the Chaga tribe. In the morning, from Moshi you will reach the village of Materuni at an altitude of 1300 meters above sea level, at the foot of Kilimanjaro. From here, accompanied by a local guide, after a short walk of about 40 minutes, you will reach the waterfalls where you can take a refreshing dip in the natural pool at the base of them. During the tour, the guide will explain how local fruits such as avocados, mangoes and bananas are grown and will tell you about the agricultural, economic and cultural life of the village. The tour will continue with the return to the village where you can enjoy a typical local lunch and watch the coffee growing process. You will learn how to grow, dry, roast and process. You will also be invited to contribute to the grinding of the coffee, traditionally accompanied by Chaga singing and dancing.
