1 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

The ideal trip to visit the two most important wildlife areas in Northern Tanzania: the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro (or Arusha) airport, just outside the main exit, you will be received by our guide who will take you to your Lodge in Karatu, near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, for dinner and overnight according to the chosen category. (Approximate transfer time Kilimanjaro Airport• Karatu: 3 h 30 min)
Early in the morning, you will leave to reach the most famous park in Tanzania: the Serengeti. (Approximate transfer time Karatu•Serengeti: 2 h and 30 min) As you travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, you will be able to admire the dense forest of tall trees and the vastness of the crater from above. As you progress towards the Serengeti, you will understand why the name means, in the Maasai language, “endless plain”. The Serengeti is considered the most famous national park in the world, the cradle of the Great Migration, where every year one of the most impressive natural cycles on the planet is renewed: tens of thousands of ungulates move, guided by the primordial instinct for survival, in constant search of new pastures. The landscape, dotted with large acacias and Kopjes (mounds of ancient rocks), is the ideal habitat for big cats. The safari will end in the afternoon with the transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay inside the park according to the chosen category.
The next day, the program of the 5-day safari in Tanzania will be entirely dedicated to the discovery of the park where there will be opportunities for the sighting of families of giraffes and elephants, large prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and smaller ones such as foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, together with more than 500 species of birds. The safari will end in the afternoon with the return to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay.
EXTRA ACTIVITIES: OLDUVAI GORGE MUSEUM • MAASAI BOMA
On this day of your safari in Tanzania you will continue the exploration of the Seronera Valley. Along the banks of the river of the same name, you will have the chance to see leopards climbing sausage trees, observe the numerous prides of lions on the Moru kopjes and, with a little luck, even spot a black rhinoceros. Finally, you can get out of the car at the famous hippo pool and approach the pool to scrutinize the many hippos piled up. In the afternoon the game drive will continue, leaving the Serengeti, to reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, declared WORLD HERITAGE SITE (UNESCO 1978) AND INTERNATIONAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (1981). (Approximate transfer time Serengeti•Ngorongoro Conservation Area: 2 h 30 min) At the end of the game drive, transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area according to the chosen category.
EXTRA ACTIVITY: BALLOON SAFARI • SPECIAL RHINO VIEWING
Immediately after breakfast, you will descend to the bottom of the crater for a game drive dedicated to the discovery of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, where nature is sovereign and “unchanged over time”. The 265 km² caldera has the highest concentration of wildlife on the continent. It is one of the very rare places where you can meet the black rhino. After lunch near the enchanting hippo lake, you will ascend the crater to leave the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Return in the late afternoon to Arusha/Kilimanjaro with the transfer organised by our Tanzania safari tour operator to catch your return flight.
