A unique and fascinating adventure with our tour operator for safari in Tanzania, through some of its most emblematic parks where, in addition to discovering the unspoiled and wild nature, you will interact with the customs and traditions of the local tribes.

Early in the morning you will leave, immediately after breakfast, to discover the wonderful Tarangire National Park. (Approximate transfer time Arusha•Tarangire: 2 h 30 min) The park, dotted with huge baobabs, covers an area of 2850 km² and includes the Tarangire River, where immense herds of zebras, wildebeests, oryx, water antelopes, lesser kudus, giraffes, buffaloes and their natural predators such as lions, leopards and wild dogs gather, especially during the dry season. Tarangire is also known for having the highest concentration of elephants in the world and is considered by many to be Tanzania’s best destination for birdwatchers, with over 450 species of birds spotted there. After lunch on one of the many natural terraces with breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding nature, the Safari will continue in the afternoon with the transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category.

EXTRA ACTIVITY: NIGHT GAME DRIVE
The safari in Tanzania will continue with an early morning departure to cross the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, where you will take the daytime safari. (Approximate transfer time Tarangire•Manyara: 2 h 30 min) Lake Manyara is one of the smallest parks in Tanzania (330 km²), but it has a lot to offer. The lake and the surrounding area constitute an ecosystem renowned for its richness in plant and animal species. The vegetation is very varied, with areas of evergreen forests, stretches of savannah, swamps and hot springs (Maji Moto). The fauna includes numerous elephants, baboons, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, hippos, large flocks of pink flamingos and other species. The park is also home to leopards, hyenas and the famous Manyara lions that have the habit of climbing trees in this area. At the end of the game drive, transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category.

EXTRA ACTIVITY: NIGHT GAME DRIVE • TREETOP WALKWAY
In the morning, you’ll visit the town of Mto Wa Mbu, where, accompanied by a local guide, you’ll stroll among the colorful artists’ shops and have the opportunity to enjoy excellent dishes in the many traditional restaurants. After lunch, you’ll reach the northern shore of Lake Eyasi where you’ll meet the local Datoga people. (Approximate transfer time Manyara-Eyasi: 2 hours) The Datoga are a semi-nomadic pastoral people, easily recognizable by their elongated earlobes and prominent facial and back tattoos. Livestock farming is their primary source of income, although over the centuries they also introduced the practice of growing corn and millet. During the visit, you will be able to admire the art of metalworking used to create jewelry, knives, arrows and participate in the lively ritual of grinding corn on stone to obtain flour. At the end of the activities, transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay in the Lake Eyasi area based on the category chosen.

Early in the morning, after breakfast, you will interact with the local Hadzabe tribe. The Hadzabe are one of the most primitive peoples on the African continent. They live exclusively by hunting and are gatherers of the spontaneous fruits of nature such as berries, tubers and honey. They do not know agriculture, writing and forms of political organization. During the visit, you can participate with the Hadzabe men in bush hunting or learn with the women how to use medicinal plants collected in the savannah. After lunch transfer to Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight in Karatu according to the chosen category. (Approximate transfer time Eyasi•Karatu: 1 h)

EXTRA ACTIVITY: HORSE RIDING
In the morning, immediately after breakfast, you will begin your game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE (UNESCO 1978) and an INTERNATIONAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (1981). (Approximate transfer time Karatu•Ngorongoro Conservation Area: 30 min) The area has become a true ecosystem, thanks to the good rainfall, the ponds, small lakes and internal streams, and the night mist that surrounds and nourishes the forests on the slopes of its famous crater. After a short stop at the crater rim, you will descend to the bottom of the caldera for a photo safari dedicated to discovering one of the most beautiful places on Earth, where nature is sovereign and “unchanged by time.” The 265 km² caldera has the highest concentration of wildlife on the continent. It is one of the very rare places where you can meet the black rhino. After lunch near the enchanting hippo lake, we will ascend the crater to exit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and reach the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and an overnight stay in Serengeti National Park, depending on the category chosen. (Approximate transfer time Ngorongoro Crater•Serengeti: 2 h 30 min)

EXTRA ACTIVITIES: MAASAI BOMA • OLDUVAI GORGE MUSEUM
The Serengeti is considered the most famous national park in the world, the cradle of the Great Migration, where every year one of the most impressive natural cycles on the planet is renewed: tens of thousands of ungulates move, guided by the primordial instinct for survival, in constant search of new pastures. The landscape, dotted with large acacias and Kopjes (mounds of ancient rocks), is the ideal habitat for big cats. As you go deeper into the heart of the Serengeti, you will understand why the name means, in the Maasai language, “boundless plain”. Your safari will continue to discover the park where there will be opportunities to spot families of giraffes and elephants, large prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and smaller ones such as foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, along with more than 500 species of birds. The Safari will end in the afternoon with the return to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category.
The following day will be entirely dedicated to exploring the park with morning and afternoon safari. In the late afternoon return to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES: WALKING SAFARI • BALLOON SAFARI • SPECIAL RHINO VIEWING
Early in the morning, right after breakfast, you will depart for Lake Natron. (Approximate transfer time Serengeti•Natron: 5 h) During the journey, you will have the opportunity to appreciate the unspoiled and particular landscape, in fact, the dirt tracks that lead to the lake are extremely scenic and cross several Maasai villages, which are outside the classic tourist circuits. Lake Natron, located at the base of Africa’s only active volcano (Ol Doinyo Lengai), “God’s Mountain” in the Maasai language, and between the Ngorongoro highlands and the Serengeti plains, is considered among the most spectacular volcanic landscapes in northern Tanzania. Desolate, mysterious and with a particular scarlet color, given by the extreme alkalinity, it is the most important site for the reproduction of lesser pink flamingos, there are up to three million of them in the months from June to November. The game drive will end in the late afternoon with transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay in the Lake Natron area according to the chosen category.

On this final day, we recommend getting up very early to admire the sunrise, which creates a spectacular play of light and color on the lake’s waters. After breakfast, you can stroll along the lake to admire the flamingos or take an easy hike (non-slip shoes recommended) along the Engare Sero stream, which flows through a narrow rocky gorge and leads to a beautiful waterfall, where you can swim. The return to Arusha/Kilimanjaro is scheduled in the late afternoon to take the return flight.
(Approximate transfer time Natron•Arusha: 4 h • Natron•Kilimanjaro Airport: 5 h) However, we are flexible and available in case of special needs, such as an early flight or the need to evaluate between a 9 or 10 day safari in Tanzania.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMBINE THIS SAFARI WITH AN EXTENSION OF A BEACH STAY IN ZANZIBAR.
