A 7-day safari in Tanzania that focuses on the period of the Great Migration in the South of the Serengeti, designed for those who have already visited the parks of Tanzania, or for those who want to deepen their knowledge of the ecosystem in the period characterized by the passage of millions of herbivores that go towards the boundless plains of the Serengeti.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro (or Arusha) airport, just outside the main exit, you will be received by the guide of our Tanzania safari tour operator who will take you to your Lodge in Karatu, near the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, for dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category. (Approximate transfer time Kilimanjaro Airport• Karatu: 3 h 30 min)
In the morning, immediately after breakfast, you will reach the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, declared a WORLD HERITAGE SITE (UNESCO 1978) AND INTERNATIONAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (1981). (Approximate transfer time Karatu•Ngorongoro Conservation Area: 30 min) The area has become a real ecosystem, thanks to the good rainfall, the ponds, the small lakes and internal streams, the night fog that surrounds and feeds the forests of the slopes of its famous crater. After a short stop at the crater rim, you will descend to the bottom of the caldera for a photo safari dedicated to the discovery of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, where nature is sovereign and “unchanged over time”. The 265 km² caldera has the highest concentration of wildlife on the continent. It is one of the very rare places where you can meet the black rhino. After lunch near the enchanting hippo lake, you will climb the crater to reach the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight between Lake Ndutu and South Serengeti according to the chosen category. An intense new day of sightings awaits you! In the period between December and March the Great Migration is found in this area. The period coincides with the time of the birth of the puppies and witnessing it is a unique emotion, also due to the high presence of felines that try to take advantage of the abundance of herbivores to feast. The low grass plains of this area also attract large numbers of Thomson’s gazelles and cheetahs that follow their migration to Lake Ndutu. Return in the late afternoon to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Departure in the morning to the Serengeti, considered the most famous national park in the world, cradle of the Great Migration, where one of the most impressive natural cycles on the planet is renewed every year: tens of thousands of ungulates move, guided by the primordial instinct to survive, in constant search of new pastures. The landscape, dotted with large acacias and Kopjes (mounds of ancient rocks), is the ideal habitat for big cats. As you go deeper into the heart of the Serengeti, you will understand why the name means, in the Maasai language, “boundless plain”. Your safari will continue, thanks to the skill of our guide, to discover the park where there will be no shortage of opportunities for the sighting of families of giraffes and elephants, large prides of lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas and smaller ones such as foxes, mongooses, honey badgers, jackals, along with more than 500 species of birds. The game drive will end in the afternoon with transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay in the park depending on the category chosen.
The following days will be entirely dedicated to exploring the park with morning and afternoon safaris.

In the morning, after a short game drive, you will return to Arusha/Kilimanjaro in the late afternoon to catch your flight home.
This concludes your safari in Tanzania. Along the way you will have the opportunity to go shopping to buy gifts and souvenirs in the characteristic local shops and bazaars.
(Approximate transfer time Serengeti•Arusha: 6 h • Serengeti•Kilimanjaro Airport: 7 h) Upon request and at an additional cost, it is possible to reduce the return time from the road safari by using domestic flights that connect the main airstrips in the Serengeti directly to the airports of Arusha (ARK), Kilimanjaro (JRO) or Zanzibar (ZNZ).
However, we are flexible and available in case of special needs, such as early flight or other.
