1 TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
2 LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
3 NGORONGORO CRATER
4 SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Our safari tour operator in Tanzania offers an exciting itinerary to witness the most emblematic moment of the Great Migration: the crossing of the herds of the Grumeti River.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro (or Arusha) airport, just outside the main exit, you will be received by our guide who will take you to your Lodge in Arusha. If you have time, you can take a tour of the city, accompanied by the guide. Alternatively, relax in the hotel with dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category.

Early in the morning, just after breakfast, you will leave to start this fantastic safari in Tanzania to discover the wonderful Tarangire National Park. (Approximate transfer time Arusha•Tarangire: 2 h 30 min) The park, dotted with huge baobabs, covers an area of 2850 km² and includes the Tarangire River, where immense herds of zebras, wildebeests, oryx, water antelopes, lesser kudus, giraffes, buffaloes and their natural predators such as lions, leopards and wild dogs gather, especially during the dry season. Tarangire is also known for having the highest concentration of elephants in the world and is considered by many to be Tanzania’s best destination for birdwatchers, with over 450 species of birds spotted there. After lunch on one of the many natural terraces with breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding nature, the safari will continue in the afternoon with the transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight according to the chosen category. After lunch on one of the many natural terraces with breathtaking views of the river and the surrounding nature, the safari will continue in the afternoon with the transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight according to the chosen category.

EXTRA ACTIVITY: NIGHT GAME DRIVE
Depart early in the morning to drive through the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park, where you will go on a daytime safari. (Approximate transfer time Tarangire•Manyara: 2 h 30 min) Lake Manyara is one of the smallest parks in Tanzania (330 km²), but it has a lot to offer. The lake and the surrounding area constitute an ecosystem renowned for its richness in plant and animal species. The vegetation is very varied, with areas of evergreen forests, stretches of savannah, swamps and hot springs (Maji Moto). The fauna includes numerous elephants, baboons, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, hippos, large flocks of pink flamingos and other species. The park is also home to leopards, hyenas and the famous Manyara lions that have the habit of climbing trees in this area. At the end of the game drive, transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight in Karatu according to the chosen category. (Approximate transfer time Manyara•Karatu: 1 h)

EXTRA ACTIVITY: TREETOP WALKWAY
In the morning, immediately after breakfast, you will start the game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, declared WORLD HERITAGE SITE (UNESCO 1978) AND INTERNATIONAL BIOSPHERE RESERVE (1981). (Approximate transfer time Karatu•Ngorongoro Conservation Area: 30 min) The area has become a real ecosystem, thanks to the good rainfall, the ponds, the small lakes and internal streams, the night fog that surrounds and feeds the forests of the slopes of its famous crater. After a short stop at the crater rim, you will descend to the bottom of the caldera for a photo safari dedicated to the discovery of one of the most beautiful places on Earth, where nature is sovereign and “unchanged over time”. The 265 km² caldera has the highest concentration of wildlife on the continent. It is one of the very rare places where you can meet the black rhino. After lunch near the enchanting hippo lake, you will head up the crater out of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and reach the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight in the Serengeti National Park according to the chosen category. (Approximate transfer time Ngorongoro Crater•Serengeti: 2 h 30 min)

EXTRA ACTIVITIES: MAASAI BOMA • OLDUVAI GORGE MUSEUM
The Serengeti is considered the most famous national park in the world, the cradle of the Great Migration, where every year one of the most impressive natural cycles on the planet is renewed: tens of thousands of ungulates move, guided by the primordial instinct for survival, in constant search of new pastures. The landscape, dotted with large acacias and Kopjes (mounds of ancient rocks), is the ideal habitat for big cats. As you go deeper into the heart of the Serengeti, you will understand why the name means, in the Maasai language, “boundless plain”. Your Tanzania Safari will continue to discover the park until you arrive in the remote western area. The Western Serengeti is commonly called the “Western Corridor” and consists of a 50 km wide strip of territory that follows the course of the Grumeti River, starting from the Seronera area almost to Lake Victoria. The Western Corridor area offers unique opportunities for sightings during the Migration between May and July. Long columns of wildebeests and zebras arrive here from the south of the Serengeti to crowd on the south bank of the river and face the risky crossing of the Grumeti, infested with the numerous and voracious crocodiles of the Nile. The day will end with transfer to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight stay according to the chosen category.
The next day will be entirely dedicated to the search for one of the most famous natural spectacles but also one of the most ferocious in the animal world: the crossing of the river by herbivores. In this period in the western part of the park the concentration of large predators is very high and, in a single day, there could be dozens of sightings of cheetahs, leopards and herds of hyenas and lions. In the afternoon, return to the Lodge/Tent Camp for dinner an overnight stay.

EXTRA ACTIVITIES: BALLOON SAFARI • WALKING SAFARI • CANOE TRIP ON LAKE VICTORIA
In the morning, after a short game drive in the northern part of the park, you will continue the Safari to the central Serengeti. In the Seronera Valley, along the banks of the river of the same name, you will have the opportunity to see leopards climbing sausage trees, observe the numerous prides of lions on the Moru kopjes and, with a little luck, even spot a black rhinoceros. Finally, you can get out of the car at the famous hippo pool and approach the pool to scrutinize the many hippos piled up. You will end the day of this fantastic 8-day safari in Tanzania with the transfer, in the late afternoon, to the Lodge/Tented Camp for dinner and overnight according to the chosen category.

In the morning, after a short game drive, you will return to Arusha/Kilimanjaro in the late afternoon to catch your flight home.
Along the way you will have the opportunity to go shopping to buy gifts and souvenirs in the characteristic local shops and bazaars.
(Approximate transfer time Serengeti•Arusha: 6 h • Serengeti•Kilimanjaro Airport: 7 h) Upon request and at an additional cost, it is possible to reduce the return time from the road safari by using domestic flights that connect the main airstrips in the Serengeti directly to the airports of Arusha (ARK), Kilimanjaro (JRO) or Zanzibar (ZNZ).
However, we are flexible and available in case of special needs, such as early flight or other.
IT IS POSSIBLE TO COMBINE THIS SAFARI WITH AN EXTENSION OF A BEACH STAY IN ZANZIBAR.
